Registration for Compulsory Pupils’ Legal Aid Duty

  • Pursuant to Bar Council Ruling 10.06all pupils are required to complete a minimum of 14 days of Legal Aid Duty prior to admission as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
  • Pupils are required to complete and submit the registration form to the Legal Aid Centre at lac.kl@malaysianbar.org.my after submitting Borang 1 and Borang 2.
  • Early registration will allow us sufficient time to schedule your orientation session, assign you to a clinic/program, and notify you of the relevant briefing and training sessions. 
  • To apply, please follow the steps below:

     

  1. Download, fill up, and affix the necessary signatures on the Pupil’s Registration Form and Master’s Consent Form.

     

  2. Submit both forms via email to lac.kl@malaysianbar.org.my   

Bar Council Legal Aid Centre (Kuala Lumpur) Pupil’s Program

  • There are four intakes per year. Please contact us as soon as possible to secure placement.

  • Pupils will be assigned to any of the following programmes, subject to availability and operational requirements:

  1. LAC Walk-In Clinic

  2. Yayasan Bantuan Guaman Kebangsaan (YBGK)

  3. Syariah Clinic

  4. Prison Program

  5. Women’s Aid Organization (WAO)

  6. Sisters-in-Islam (SIS) Forum

  7. All Women’s Action Society (AWAM)

  8. Tenaganita Migrant Workers Clinic

  9. UNHCR Clinic (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees)

  10. Pertubuhan Pembangunan Kebajikan dan Persekitaran Positif Malaysia (SEED)

  11. Asylum Access

  12. Development of Human Resources for Rural Areas, Malaysia (DHRRA)

  13. Pertubuhan Kesihatan dan Kebajikan Umum Malaysia (PKKUM)

  14. Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM)
